With our new Selection, Copy & Paste, Color, and Fit to Viewport features, your MIDI editing is now more intuitive and efficient. These enhancements are designed to streamline your workflow, allowing you to focus on what matters most—bringing your musical vision to life with speed and precision.
What's new
Selecting MIDI Notes: Easily select multiple MIDI notes or entire sections for quick editing and adjustments. Refine your compositions with precise control over note selection and manipulation.
Copy, Paste & Duplicate: Quickly duplicate MIDI sequences to streamline your workflow. Effortlessly copy and paste notes or entire sections to build and rearrange your tracks.
Color Coding: Piano roll notes now match the color of the MIDI clip, enhancing visual consistency. Improve your workflow by easily identifying and distinguishing different parts of your composition.
Fit to Viewport: When opening a MIDI clip in the piano roll, all notes automatically fit within your screen’s viewport. Gain an immediate, comprehensive view of your MIDI sequences, making it easier to navigate and edit complex arrangements.
How it works
Selecting MIDI notes: Click and drag to select multiple MIDI notes or entire sections within the piano roll.
Copy and Paste:
Select the MIDI notes or sections you want to copy and paste.
Press Ctrl+C (Windows) or CMD+C (Mac) to copy
Move the time cursor at the top of the workspace to the location you want to paste
Press Ctrl+V (Windows) or CMD+V (Mac) to paste your MIDI notes
Duplicate:
Select the MIDI notes or sections you want to duplicate.
Press Ctrl+D (Windows) or CMD+D (Mac) to duplicate.
The duplicated section will begin at the end of your selected section
Repeat these steps to repeat sequences of notes or sections

Drag, Drop, and Swap Audio Samples

Traditional DAWs often involve cumbersome steps to replace samples on the arrangement, but our new feature streamlines this process, allowing you to effortlessly integrate and manipulate audio samples within Sesh. This enhancement not only saves you valuable time but also keeps your creative momentum intact. It empowers you to experiment with different sounds more rapidly, evolve your sonic palette, and pinpoint the perfect sample for your mix and genre, ensuring your tracks remain dynamic and polished.

Drag and Drop: Seamlessly add audio samples from your existing library or directly from renowned sample libraries like Splice.
Custom Samples: Effortlessly drag in your own recorded or produced samples, integrating them smoothly into your tracks.

How it works
Select a sample: Select your sample from your local library, Splice, or other sample library.
Drag and drop: Drag the sample into your Sesh project to add it to a new or existing track.
Swap Samples:
Drag the new sample onto the track with the sample you want to replace
Hold the ALT (Windows) or Option (Mac) key on your keyboard. A blue selection border will appear on the track's samples.
Release the mouse button to swap the samples while maintaining the original pattern.
Repeat to experiment with different samples to find the right sonic profile for your song.

Multiplayer Piano Roll

We envisioned a space where musicians could come together, regardless of physical distance, and interact as if they were in the same studio. The Multiplayer Piano Roll allows musicians to watch each other's cursors in real-time as they enter, adjust, and refine notes—enhancing the creative flow with immediate feedback and collective input. Users can simultaneously edit MIDI sequences, rapidly prototype melodies, harmonies, and rhythms.

Live MIDI Editing: Watch your collaborators' cursors as they enter notes, resize them, and delete them in real-time. This dynamic interaction fosters a sense of shared creativity and instant feedback. Perfect for songwriting sessions where multiple musicians can instantly see and hear changes, allowing for immediate adjustments and creative input.

How it works
Entering the Piano Roll: Open the piano roll from your project interface to start creating and editing MIDI sequences.
Adding notes: Click on the desired note position in the piano roll to add a new note.
Resizing notes: Click and drag the edge of a note to adjust its length, perfect for modifying note durations.
Delete: Click on a note to delete it
Live Cursors: See your collaborators' cursors moving in real-time as they add, resize, and delete notes.
Instant Updates: All changes made by collaborators are visible instantly, ensuring seamless interaction.
Zoom In/Out: Use mouse scroll or pinch gestures on a trackpad to zoom in and out for a detailed or broad view.
Pan: Click and drag the canvas to move around and focus on different sections of your MIDI sequence.

Guess what? You can now copy and paste trigger clips in Sesh. Yeah, we know, it’s about time. This should’ve been here all along, but hey, better late than never. Duplicate sections quickly and easily create variations.
